Gold Down, Copper Up

The metals have continued their slide this past week with Gold currently at $1,274 and Silver at $16.64. This puts 90% Silver bags at $11,710 and VG+ Silver Dollars at $22,125 per thousand coins. One ounce Proof Gold Eagles in the OGP have dropped to $1,315 and Proof Silver Eagles wholesale in the $33-$34 range.
In this week's LD Wholesale Market Dealer Price Guide, there are increasing prices in Half Cents and Large Cents. The 1829 Half Cent in MS64 BN is higher at $875 Market and the 1849 in MS64 BN is up to $965. In Large Cents, the 1793 Vine & Bars in AU53 advanced to $25,250 and the 1795 Plain Edge in MS63 BN climbed to $16,500. Below are a few more notable increases for Large Cents.
1805 Large Cent - AU58 - $3,750
1811 Large Cent - MS62 BN - $7,125
1839 Petite Head Large Cent - MS63 BN - $1,225
1855 Large Cent - MS65 Red - $2,525

Indian Cents are showing some strength with a long list of higher prices. The 1864 Copper Nickel in MS65 is up to $990 Market and the 1869 in MS64 RB is a higher $1,250. The rare 1877 is a favorite of collectors; the MS62 BN increased to $3,525. Another rare date, the 1909 S MS65 RB is up this week to $2,075.
Proof Indian Cents are attracting some higher prices. The 1865 in PR64 RB increased to $785 Market and the 1878 in PR66 RB advanced to $1,025. The 1887 in PR66 RB jumped to $1,175 and the 1892 in PR66 RB is now at $985. In many cases the Red Brown coins are nearly just as nice as the Red coins, and they may be just a fraction of the Red price.
